About Me
3 years after a friend's youngest sister went into remission from a hard battle with Lymphoma, spots started showing back up. My friend and I were seniors in college, the year was 2017, her sister said enough was enough. Foregoing a second round of experimental treatment. She opted for an overtly healthy lifestyle, including Vegan-ism. The spots disappeared.

I thought to myself, currently eating steak almost 3 times a week, and very little vegetables, if my health took a turn...would I be able to change my entire lifestyle? Would it be hard? Would I give up? So I challenged myself for about a month. My body and mood, overall demeanor, changed. I dropped a lot of excess weight I carried since my childhood, I had better energy, and I opted to stick to a mainly plant based diet. I still ate fish every now and then understanding the Vegan wave hadn't quite expanded far enough, I still needed to be able to eat in social and large gatherings.

After graduation I moved west to San Diego. Where the options were much more plentiful. I started to dread going home to Miami for visits, or making trips anywhere that wouldn't understand not all 'Vegetarian options' must require some sort of dairy element...I soon would meet my current boyfriend who I open to plant based options, but is still a meat and cheese lover. This also made eating out pretty difficult. I could take him to my favorite local vegan restaurants, but it couldn't be the ONLY places we can eat together at. It wasn't sustainable. We came up with an idea to blog about places we both could thoroughly enjoy, and even recommend plant based places that even a meat eater would enjoy, we know we aren't the only couple with two different diets.

Recently, going home for the first time since Decemebr 2019, I was thrilled to see all the new Plant Based places around Miami, but bummed other places didn't at least have a vegan option on the menu, or even a good one at that. Then after going on a trip with my family shortly after, the food accommodations sent me into a spiral of hunger. Thats when my family "affectionately" teased me by saying "Plant Baby Hungry!!!" multiple times a day. And thus, the dream to find and document the best plant based options the world has to offer, finally had a name.
